FYI
During the recent candid on site discussions about some unpopular moderating decisions, including but not restricted to a lively "I Protest" thread, I read some of the comments to be an indication that it might in fact, be best for Vintage, and for me, S1997, to pass the torch to someone newer and someone with new moderating ideas. I had had similar thoughts earlier on, and had even expressed some of them to a long term Vintage member that I have a great deal of love and respect for. But I have not stepped down, because I have very much enjoyed the duties here in Vintage where I have so many good friends and where I always get to welcome the new people joining in. And I thought I was doing a reasonably good job. After an explicit call for (a) new moderator(s) in Vintage I decided to pursue the possibility with Administration, which I did do. Meanwhile, even though I did not intend, in any way, to solicit messages in favor of my remaining, I did receive many encouraging and even almost pleading public and private remarks in favor of my sticking it out a while longer. The responses were due, I think, to a brief post I had made in the "I Protest" thread. I love this place, and Yes. +1 Chris and I have many good friends here. And I wouldn't be going anywhere, even if I were to step down as one of the Vintage moderators. Anyway, I will inform Administration that I will be here, and will do my best as I continue on. Thanks for all your friendship and for making this job easy and fun! And thanks for the laughter and the good times. As for me, I personally do not mind your complaints, your suggestions, your opinions, preferences or your biases; so long as they get stated with kindness and respect, and so long as they are within the accepted rules. So carry on ...
