If things continue to deteriorate, I'm also thinking survival camp. Anyone else want to be an anarchist and join? Unfortunately we can't be "typical" and do it in Montana or Idaho because Dean hates the cold, but maybe we can find a spot in warmer climes.

Good point regarding inflation. However, the EU is even less equipped than we are to weather a recession--our crappy dollar will still fall less comparatively than the Euro after we're done dragging the international markets down with us.

ok everybody in vintage should be able to remember stagflation right?

the huge energy costs are crippling the economy, couple that with the collapsing monetary situation and the picture isn't pretty.

I'll bang to drum one more time just for principle.
wind solar have to be developed immediately.
Simply stated it is the most critical element facing the country right now.

I have an uninhabited island in the tropics all picked out, I always keep a spare set of the ship's keys when I leave a job Still have all my ammunition and supplies left over from Y2K
I'll save you a spot (OK 2 spots, Dean's not that bad... ) and it will only cost you 50% of your remaining portfolio.

The really scary and not so funny thing is that in 6 months that might actually turn out to have been a good deal... Just kidding and keeping

We're in. Why do we have to wait? Can't we start now and beat the rush?

^^^ ....needs to be someplace with year-round temp in the 70's and low RH. San Diego is too pricey and taxes too high

Any other suggestions

gee it makes me look absolutely prescient when I labeled the thread
" get ready for the roller coaster, eh?"

prediction: tomorrow will be lead by profit taking and be down 250.

and as a side note, you have to remember the people that are making money on all this, that would be the brokers.
