Oh all right. I'll look at Barnes N Noble and give it a shot.

Oh, and the book is Killer Angels, right?
sounds like a good reason to visit the local public library. That way there's no investment if you don't like it.

Duh! I never think of that. Our closest library is about 13 miles in the next town. Thanks for the idea, Ken.

Patty, you must live in a really small town. Have you posted any pix of the area other than the ones from your deck/patio? Do you live in northern or southern CA? The two areas are so different but each is beautful in it's own way. You're not in the area with the forest fires are you?

Patty, you need to read the book if for no other reason than to know if our fearless tour guides on the drives, AKA paS2K, et.al., are actually recounting history or just making it up. You don't want to fall for just anything!

I think I have posted photos in the hometown thread.

We had a fire in Acton on Sunday. I was cleaning and waxing the acrylic jacuzzi and wacthed the flames from my deck. Oh, I took photos. I'll have to see how they came out. The fire department jumped on it and got it out fast, which is good since it was windy.

I agree. We don't have trees like you do, but we have lots of fun canyon roads and mountains for S2000 playtime. Of course, it sucks in the summer when it's over 100* for long stretches.
