Glock Glock
<3 glock - I would love to get a gen 4 g17 but CA hasnt yet "allowed it" and the cost to get one here is 600 through rifle gear or 700 through ebr works and neither have them. I like the new shorter base frame on the gen 4 that's a lot more like the 1911. Unfortunately after that 2 episode torture test run on Tac TV with Larry Vickers everyone and there mom is buying them in bulk right now too.
I would love to get a g21 sf rtf version though too if I could find one.

I used to shoot a lot. Handguns, trap & skeet, 22 rifle but I dont live near a decent range anymore. I have a 357 Mag for home protection and I am trying to get some friends to invite me to a private range to practice.
Never was that into handguns, certainly not enough to get me to part with money to buy one.
We used to go shoot trap with a friend and enjoyed it but I never invested in the guns for the same reason.
For reasons I can't really rationally explain, I want to go to Barrett's Long range school and learn to plink targets at 1500 yards with a single shot .50 cal.

I own a Beretta Mod.92FS with Packmayr grips. I like to plink with it & although I'm still licensed to carry, I rarely take it because it's a little too conspicuous. Haven't decided on my next handgun purchase, but it will be more compact. For home protection I have a short barrel 12 Ga. pump, but thinking of buying a Taurus .410 revolver to replace it.
For those of you who think guns aren't necessary like I did. Around 20 years ago, I had a change of opinion after a kid pulled a gun on me in broad daylight. At the time I had around 10 years of martial arts training, but from 15 feet away in a wide open parking lot I would have had at least 2 slugs in me before I could reach him. Somebody up there was looking out for me, because the old saying that you never can find a cop around when you need one didn't hold true. A New Castle Police cruiser came down the road & the situation ended. Shortly after that, I learned how to use a gun & decided what to buy.

‘‘In a polity, each citizen is to possess his own arms, which are not supplied or owned by the state.’’
— Aristotle
‘‘Among the many misdeeds of the British rule in India, history will look upon the act of depriving a whole nation of arms, as the blackest.’’
— Mahatma Ghandi, "Gandhi, An Autobiography", page 446
‘‘The most foolish mistake we could possibly make would be to allow the subjected people to carry arms. History shows that all conquerors who have allowed their subjected peoples to carry arms have prepared their own downfall by so doing. Indeed, I would go so far as to say that the underdog is a sine qua non ["something essential" lit. "without which not"] for the overthrow of any sovereignty. So let's not have any native militia or police.’’
