Enjoy. We won't be too far behind. The end of March we will be picking up my daughter & her hubby in Jacksonville and heading for a condo in Clearwater Beach.

Have a wonderful time on this much-deserved vacation, Jonas. Sounds like you've got things all mapped out.

Do I have this right? Seems like from what I've read on S2ki, you easterners tend to head to Florida for the in the cold months.

Being a camping type person, I rarely head south in the winter (I rarely head anywhere in the winter). More often than Florida would be to Australia (really, really far south!). This particualr trip is determined by 3 things - wrapping up the hard part of a big project, the fact that I have favorite relatives in Naples that I haven't seen in a decade or two, and the fact that Anika is such a good age for Disney right now. I doubt we'll be back to Florida for a couple of years at least.

In general, though, yes, folks here head for Florida.

Here we tend to do the same. Wintering in Florida used to be a must. Now a lot of people are choosing to winter on the SC coast or the Georgia coast. I hope now that Jim is on the final week before retirement that we'll spend more time down south in the winter and spend summer/fall here.

In Cali, people winter by going to the snow. Like Mammoth Mountain or Lake Tahoe, to go skiing, or I should say, snow boarding.

But not too much, is it Valentine? We used to get about 3" in Acton every winter but really haven't in about 4 years. I'll miss that here but I guess I'll get used to the warmer winters in TC.
