Got Stopped
Well, it happened. I was driving to Ritzville WA from Tacoma on I-5 in our TL-S with my wife and two friends. We were west of Moses Lake and I was cruising along with the cruse control set at about 75 - no traffic for miles and good weather. As soon as I went past the WSP SUV he pulled out and turned on his lights. I pulled over right away, turned off the engine, rolled down all the windows and put both hands on the steering wheel. The officer asked for license, insurance card and registration which I gave him. He told me that the license plate covers (clear) are illegal in Washington state as they reduce the reflectivity of the plates. I replied that I was unaware of that. He said he stopped me for doing 78 or 79 mph (70 mph posted limit) and I replied that I had changed tires to a larger size and had not calculated that into the cc setting. He handed me my paperwork back and said that he was just going to give me a verbal request to slow down. I replied "yes sir I will". It goes to show that it helps to be polite and respectful.
Yeah...the more hassle you give a cop the more likely he's gonna be a...*aherm*..anyway..
when i got a speeding ticket luckily the cop that pulled me over did throw a shit fit at me..although they freaked out when they saw the shirt i was wearing..its a white shirt with a blood stain design from the band My Chemical Romance and was like "oh shit no no no no its just a design on the shirt!" and the cops were like "that scared the hell out of me." kinda had a laugh..still got a ticket though =(
But it was pretty much he told me the reason he pulled me over, gave me the ticket and i was on my way

I love my Valentine1 radar detector. I went on a ten-day, 2,733 mile road trip with my
, both of us in our S2000s. That thing saved us from speeding by about 40 cop radars. In Cali the cops use Ka band, but I found out that some other states use K band. If I was in front, I'd tap the brakes to let Jerry know I had a radar blip. If he was in front, I'd use our walkie-talkies to tell him I got a blip.
