Yeah, it does a pretty good job of that. The hardest time I have is when I just start out and don't know which direction to go. It'll say go north but I'm not sure where north is.
Out here, you can drive for over 100 miles between gas stations, across wide expanses of desert. That's where I got screwed up the first time. Winslow, Arizona, I think it was.

We love our Garmin StreetPilot 340. It comes loaded with all of North America. It directs you by street name and an easy to read moving map.
We have found it to be very reliable and easy to use.
Mine is mounted at the bottom of the windshield using the suction cup mount. It sits on the dash directly under the rearview mirror. I ran the power cord around the dash and wired it to the fuse block using an aux cigarette lighter adapter.

I used the unit yesterday to recalibrate the speedometer/odometer in the S. I was about 2% off on the high side. Not

.I believe that most odometers measure miles as slightly less than 5280 feet. One side effect is that mileage based warranties expire a little sooner.

I downloaded an update for the maps and GPS for the Nuvi 660 about a week ago. Very
. It now knows about backroads and routes that the Si Navi hasn't a clue about.

I think that most speedometers read a little fast, and most odometers measure a little short.

Lainey - check the Garmin site. They have a program you can download to tell you if they have updates for your unit.
Lainey,
If you got your Nuvi 350 before November 16, 2006, the Garmin web site says that you should update your software to version 4.30.
I got my Nuvi right after Christmas. I love it. I've already loaded some pictures and mp3 files to a SD card which I inserted into the unit. The GPS also works with my Verizon Razr cell phone and it downloads all the phone listings too, so if I wanted, I can dial out via Bluetooth.

They are supposed to email me notice of updates.
I looked at that 430 update. Do you download it to the computer, then use the USB cord to transfer it to the Nuvi? I have no idea on this......
