When I registered mine they directed me to the S2000 Vintage Forum. They said it has become the new Garmin discussion thread.

I agree these are pretty slick. I frankly had never paid any attention to them, although I do recall Matt dragging one out at the Cleveland meet - but I never looked at it. So I was very pleased to see how cool it worked when I took my c340 crusing.

I used mine to find my way home from my sister's house the other day! Not that I didn't know the way, but I like the back roads, even in the Jeep. I usually take certain back roads to get to her house, but this time I let the Nuvi direct me. It had me make a right turn out of her place, vs. a left, then a right. It brought me out to an intersection I was familar with, just a shorter distance, I guess.

I think the Garmin is going to be neck and neck for "favorite gadget" right up there with the digital camera.

Also found a company that sells removable screen protectors for about $12.00. I know the screen on my digital camera is all scratched to heck, didn't want that to happen to my Nuvi.
Link, please?

Sure!

Nuvi Screen protectors

If you "Google" Nuvi screen protectors, you'll come up with a few others as well.

I figured it's worth $12.00.

Hmmm I just read the FAQ, not sure this is the one I want. I found another on line that was washable and removable....darn!!!!

I read a story in one of my car magazines recently that portable GPS units are now high on the list of thefts out of cars. They recommend putting it out of sight or in the trunk when leaving your car parked in a public place.

My Nuvi GPS screen protector came from Boxwave (www.boxwave.com). They sell screen protectors for cameras, GPS units, PDAs, laptops, etc.

The version I got ("ClearTouch Anti-Glare) is washable and removable. It sells for $12.95 They sell a "crystal" version of the ClearTouch, but I figured that it might show more glare, especially when I have the top down in the S.

Here's a switch. I have been driving my new Pilot with Nav for 2 weeks. After this short time, I find that my Nuvi 350 is actually better (or I like it better). Better map views, more street information and the trip computer. The Garmin actually gives more information than Honda's $2000 system. The Honda's voice command is pretty cool, but 600 commands? I'll never remember half of them! I really like the back-up camera, it's the reason I went for the Honda system. They are both very good, but I like the simplicity of the Nuvi!

remember they make their money on the accesories and options. there is no competition, you take it or you don't.
The nuvi has to stand on it's own performance in a competative environment
so it's not a surprise that the aftermarket unit is actually better.

My neighbor, I just learned, was in Fort Lauderdale, FL for Christmas. They took a drive to the beach and on the way back stopped at a dollar store. When they returned to their locked Suburban just 10 minutes later they found all their electronic stuff gone - GPS, DVD player, and Camera. The thieves gained entry by gutting the locking cylinder attached to the car door.
