The last time I was pulled over I didn't have my registration with me. The cop said my proof of insurance card was good enough since it has the VIN printed on it, which was all he needed from the registration.

Our registration is the only paperwork we receive here in MA. You are supposed to have it in the vehicle/available, however if they run the plate, they can tell if the registration is valid or not.
