I'd rather drive pencils in to my ears than watch or listen to Barry Manilow. But, hey, that's just me.

I'll go you one better. I'd rather listen to Michael Bolton than to Manilow. And I'd rather hear fingernails on the chalk board than listen to Bolton.

Aw, now...

My weekend was spent digitizing (via iTunes) my CD collection (all 350 or so of which are now packed, sans jewel boxes, into several small storage boxes), and I just did everything even though some of it made me cringe just looking at the labels and remembering. That stuff, and I won't divulge which of us, my darling wife or I, bought it (but it wasn't me), makes Michael Bolton / Barry Manilow Duets of 'N Sync's Greatest Hits seem highbrow.

Fortunately, I can choose not to load it onto the player. That's going to be reserved for Andreas Vollenweiter's jazz harp. HPH

Yeah. I half expected her to be awarded "Trainwreck of the Year". But she is talented. Go figure.

I challenge anyone to watch the Grammys and the Barry Manilow concert and declare the Grammys a superior musical event. I am not a Manilow fan, but the Grammys were a disaster.

That said, I thought Winehouse was the high point of the show.

That said, she strikes me as a female Mick Jagger.

That said, I conclude that everything I need to know about popular music, I learned by 1973.

So, I guess you won't be watching again? I saw the beginning, but got bored pretty quickly. I do like Alicia Keys. That woman can sing!

I'll take a look again in about 5 years.
