Help Wanted for 'Timeship'
So in my job searching, this came up:
Public Relations / Marketing / Executive Assistant for Architect
We are searching for an in-house part-time Public Relations / Marketing Consultant to promote an architect with a hi-profile visionary project named Timeship. The website is: www.timeship.org
TIMESHIP’S MISSION: to conquer aging and eventually death. We have long been fascinated by the possibility of immortality even as we accepted death as inevitable. Recent scientific advances suggest that aging and death are genetically programmed and might someday be slowed or even eliminated. We are now entering an era in which the exponential growth of technology will soon create a world that we, at the beginning of the 21st century, will hardly recognize. Practical immortality may be a significant part of this world to which Timeship will take us. Designed by architect Stephen Valentine, Timeship’s six-acre structure will be a center for pioneering research to indefinitely extend the healthy human lifespan, as well as the world’s most secure and technologically advanced facility for the storage of cryopreserved biological materials, including DNA, organs for transplant, whole mammalian organisms, and for transporting humans cryogenically to the future when all other medical options have failed.
A new released book (September 9, 2009)
Timeship: The Architecture of Immortality describes the creation of this symbolically-rich building and examines the technologies that will make it one of the most innovative structures of our time, a veritable Noah’s Ark to a future we can only begin to imagine.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
In addition to marketing and public relations experience, candidates must understand the art world, architecture, design, with a passion for science. Must be a perfectionist with organizational, visual and communication skills.
Skills required would include:
• Writing, editing & research
• Computer skills, Word, Excel, Adobe Creative Suite
• Organizing lectures
• Promotion of new book
• Organizing social events that Mr. Valentine should attend.
• Some book keeping
Hours could be erratic from times and must have a hardcore work ethic, with availability and flexibility at a moment’s notice when meeting deadlines (does not drop the ball). A rare opportunity for a very upscale, smart person, with refined social skills. We are located in Midtown-East. Email resume, but must have “detailed” letter of interest in the project to: info@timeship.org
Compensation: $18 to $30 hour

Go for it! BTW, one of my best roll-model friends is 85 and I've noticed he's slipping, so hurry up.
