Song prolly posted several times. I heard this ditty, on the way to work, the other day.

Have a great Friday & weekend! May all your favorite football teams win.

That's such a good song with such an interesting history. It was originally written in 1933 as "The Bad in Every Man" and performed by Shirley Ross in the movie "Manhattan Melodrama" (I highly recommend it if you like old movies. Shirley Ross is the woman who did "Thanks For The Memories" with Bob Hope.)

Here's "The Bad In Every Man"

Everyone liked the melody but the lyric didn't go over very well, so Rodgers and Hart reused the melody and came up with "Blue Moon"

Here's one early version

Here's another early version

Virtually everyone from Frank Sinatra to Billie Holiday to Harpo Marx covered it and over the years it continued to be recorded and virtually every generation heard it.

The most popular version, of course, is the one by the Marcels

It is, of course, a great song and a timeless song.

A hauntingly beautiful but sad song. Listen to the words.
