Neil Sedaka's sister lived not too far from where he lived. In the summer he used to practice his piano playing and singing in her back yard. He's appreciably older than me but as kids we used to hear him sing every now and then.

He wrote a lot of songs for the Brill Building publishers and wrote some for Connie Francis. Remember this one?
