Are you finding a lot of little parts left over? I did on the Shuttle. I have a bag for the next project.
Yes, for each of the 3 Iarge ones I've done, I've had around 10 small parts left over. Sometimes, watching the instructions, you overlook a small piece that doesn't impact the end product so it doesn't get noticed. I also think they give some extra connectors, and lastly, they probably have some electronic sorter to build the bags for the set. Wouldn't surprise me if something small gets past.

You have pics of the Shuttle? Is it done?

Finished.. I hammered away at the last 2 boxes tonight. I need the space for my Make A Wish event, which we decided to do at the end of August. So, I need to put prizes out, photos, etc. to start generating some interest.

Almost 3700 pieces. Crappy cell phone pics - I'll redo at some point with the camera... The frunk opens, showing off the luggage provided. The engine cover comes off with a neatly placed handle. The doors open with a little lever (its visible in the 3rd pic) between the solid roof pieces and the angled pieces. You push it and the doors open up, then the close mechanism is where the door sill is.

I've thought about buying the cheap Technic motor to attach to one of the wheels. There's demo's out there of a guy doing it, and running through the gears with the paddle shifters and the wheels move at different speeds. It's really something...

For the record, July 5th - Cindy hasn't even cracked open her Hogwart's box yet. I thought Labor Day, which could be right - in 2022!

TY. I lost track. Each box of the first few took about an 60-90 minutes to sort, count and log the pieces and about another 90 minutes heads down to complete that section. For boxes 4 to 6 (6 was just 4 rims and 4 tires) I skipped all the logging, figuring that it didn't matter if a piece was missing, I'd figure it out soon enough and have to order it. Lego has a webpage to tell them what set and what piece you need.

I'd guess box 4 was the longest, probably 2-2.5 hours, mostly because I did little 10-15 minute spurts. Box 5 and 6 I finished in about 2 hours total. So, all in all, I'd guess about 9-10 hours of assembly.

Wishing I had skill and patience for some kind of hobby, but I do not. I've done a lot of nothing today. Sitting around waiting for a call that granddaughter's VW is ready for pick up. Brake caliper this time. Weather is miserable anyway, a good day for a hobby. I had to settle for just taking a few pictures of the cat.

I finished a few weeks ago. I was a lot of fun and I had to stop myself from sitting there until it was done.

I'm trying to decide what I should do next.......

It is, but I don't believe I have that creative gene that many here do. Subjects have to appear before me I'm not good a thinking up interesting ways to photograph every day items.

Golf story…. Long, and probably disconnected…

my golf season is usually done by now.
The warmer weather has extended it by a month or more,
Ive played very well this year, maybe my most consistent golf in 10 years.
the last month or so, my driver distance has suffered, and a consistent high fade has turned into a bad slice,
I’ve had some tight back issues, no more than normal or that I think is unusual.

Cindy’s mom always asks what I want for my birthday.
I was thinking new driver.
I chose to go for a lesson Friday to check the swing and see if the driver is the issue…. For the golfers, I know what we'd like the answer to be, which is usually isnt.
1 30 minute session, shows me the swing and what I’m doing,
apparently, I’ve developed this short vertical backswing. Killing my driver and causing my irons to push right a little,
corrected that, looked at the clubs, suggested my sand wedge and 60 we shot and worn out.
so, Cindy’s mom is getting me wedges now.

im supposed to play today at 11
friend pings me yesterday, gonna rain, he,s out.
I check the weather last night, rain a little later, if I get up, I’ll see. Either I’ll play or hit the range to try toe new swing corrections.
Get up at 6ish. Wet outside, but not raining.
check the golf course website. 740 available. The course is 2 minutes from my house.
get there, get a cart, head to 1. It’s 710, no one there
putt a few, chip a few. Stretch, now 720.
I tee off.
finish 18 at 9:00. 1 hour 40. Shot a 44 on the front and 36 on the back,
grab breakfast at a local bagel shop.
Home, Cindy is still sleeping.
F1 didn’t record, so I’ll watch the replay at 1pm. NFL in London to watch early, Giants on at 425.

that’s it….
