Course looked pretty cool.
I'll be curious to hear the post round summary.

Beautiful course. The 8th got washed out in Ida, so between 18 an 1, on the practice range, they had a 100 yard par 3 while they rebuild.

We started on 14. Started slow then got a groove going by our 4th/5th hole. So, on the scorecard, I shot a 40/50. A few strokes above average this summer, but on a new course I've never played, I'll take it, no questions asked. The greens were about an 11, fast, and very subtle breaks. Because the course is up in the hills, reading them was tricky as you're brain is confused by the horizon and other hills you see in the background. We had a caddy who was great. I three putted twice. For contrast, my friend who's played there a few times, three putted 9 holes last time and four putted from 10 feet once!

The holes are spaced enough where you still have a sense of the course and surrounding, but really aren't in danger of a stray ball or hear a lot of noise. The greens are massive. I'd guess 3 to 4 times my normal course. They also have 5 or 6 tee boxes (and 12 IIRC on one hole), so members get a different look each day.

The clubhouse looked like the the lodge at Yellowstone. We all had lockers with our names on them for the day. I have some phone pics that I'll get up at some point.

Agreed. I think non-golfers may think the prices are steep.

I can play my local county courses for $28. I can find a number of public courses for the same, or going up to $100 in the area.
I've paid $360 for Spyglass and $525 for Pebble Beach. Don't remember Harbourtown, guessing $250-300? I've paid that easily on vacation in several places.

I have no issue paying $200 for a private course that I might not ever get a chance to play, one time, likely 1 a year. In this case, there's also a $50 dinner, $15 lunch, drinks on the course ($20) and 2 sleeves of Pro V1s at $25. So, it was $265 including the caddy fee, -the $110 I got in stuff, so $160 or so. I don't feel jipped or robbed at all. Well worth it. Photos going up in the Photo thread.

Not if you own a horse, or a couple horses. That's a steal but horse standards. Really.

Autocross season and track night season is over for us here this year, so less car stuff. Working on our house right now, plan to sell it. For now the main hobby we do have time for is playing disc golf. Days are pretty short so on weekdays we sometimes head out with glow tape and play at night Should pull out the guitar but when home, it is focused around projects at the house for now

We need to get a bit closer to family, I can work 100% remote and we want more land vs more house. We are kinda looking outside the KC area right now. Would love 10 +acres with most of it wooded so looking more on the MO side. That area keeps us close to a metro area and airport, is only a couple of hours from our families and still just about a 6 hour drive back to the twin cities when I need to come up for work (or a very short flight from KC)

Actually saw 30 acres with 20ish wooded recently for less than our current house is worth but it was about an hour too far out from where we are looking So that one was not the one!

When we moved my wife wanted more space and I wanted more house.
I'd grown up in a Victorian and wanted the bigger rooms that come with a bigger house.
So we wound up with both.
