Default How's the eyesight?

It was time for an eye exam last night. Somehow four+ years had passed since the last one.

I've noticed I can't read ANY small print anymore without glasses. We have the cheap readers all over the house. At work, I wear my glasses all day. No line bifocals/trifocals....I wear them at night to drive as well, even though I pass the eye test without them.

I had expected to need a change in my lenses, however my distance vision is only off a "tad" since the last time, and even reading/close up vision is not off enough to spend $$$ on new glasses. I can upgrade the cheap readers I have around the house to a slightly stronger strength.

Eye health was good. No glaucoma, which is good, Mom's had issues. No cataracts forming, which is also good, as it's a slight concern due to use of inhaled steroids.

So, my eyes are in better shape than I thought. Maybe that part of me is not falling apart as quickly as other parts.

How's are you doing with the vision tests? How often do you require new glasses/lenses?

I'm overdue for a checkup since I DO have glaucoma and have had it for YEARS (since my early 30s). I do not require treatment, just regular annual exams to be sure it stays within certain ranges. I've only had to replace my eyeglasses once in the past 4 or 5 years.

I went for a thorough eye exam (ophthalmologist) not long ago, since I hadn't had one in years. I've worn glasses for distance since I was young, but the doc said my vision had improved and I don't really need them. So I've driven in the daytime without them a couple of times. He recommended a 25% increase for reading, but so far I'm managing without that and don't use glasses for reading. I can still read very small type.

Every time I go in, I need stronger glasses. I know when I need to go in when I have dreams that I am trying to read stuff and my eyes won't focus.

for the most part my near vision went to crap in my late 30's and has held there.
My distance vision focus is pretty much still the same, I just don't think I have as many active pixels anymore.

I notice it most trying to track a golf ball.
I tend to loose sight of those 300-325 yard drives at the end.....

no really...

I haven't been to the eye doc in over a year but my vision has stabilized. It really hasn't changed much in the last ten years. I'm slightly nearsighted, slightly farsighted, and have a slight astigmatism. The astigmatism bothers me the most.

I wear my glasses most of the time now when I drive but that's partly because they're transition tri-focals so I use them for sunglasses as well top down since I broke my last pair of cheap sunglasses and haven't bothered to buy any.

I don't usually wear my glasses at work as I don't really need them. Fuzzy and indistinct seems to work rather well there.

I was 20/15 in my teens and early 20s - but that was a while ago.

I do use reading glasses for the tiny print or just don't bother to read it - contracts excluded. I'll get a magnifying glass for those when I have to.

If you're still hiiting it like that you should find a good caddie - or a golf ball sniffing dog.

It might be in the fairway.

Went to a complete eye exam,last summer,and surprisingly,my eyesight is improving,with age,which I don't understand...

So,the ophthalmologist prescribed me some new lenses, that are thinner, than the ones I had before.
I can see better now...

I have been wearing glasses,since I was 6 years old,(when I started school.),the doctor said,this often happens,when you grow older...

I get my eyes checked every year for glasses Rx, and just did it 2 weeks ago. I'm barely changing now days. I just like to get new glasses at least every 2 years. Might as well get the sharpest vision out of them that I can.
