going on 27 years, but it was hell to quit.
My wife has since told me it was the closest to divorce we ever got.

Hang in and good luck...

you can do it.

with the others that it is a good decision and a good thing that you can make it through.

IMHO if it were not for the tax revenue, cigarettes would have been made illegal years ago. Unlike the other products that have a "sin tax" like alcohol, which when used in moderation have a health benefit. Cigarettes when used as directed have no health benefit at all.

Keep the fight going and don't look back.

Thumbs down

Having buried my brother a few months ago (after 10 year slow death from emphysema, following 50 years of smoking), I also applaud your efforts.

Good luck with sticking to it... The single best decision you can make for your health and everyone else's.

That is excellent news, Mike. You can do it! Mary and I are just about to do the same. I just talked to the doc about it yesterday. He wrote me a scrip for Chantix. Mary is going to use the patch as she can't tolerate the Chantix. She gets too many of the side effects.

I quit on May 12th, 1985. I friend of ours was warming up for a bike race. He wasn't professional but he often beat Erick Heiden. Anyway, while warming up, he dropped dead of a massive cardiac event. He never smoked or drank a day in his life. I thought this is the last person who should have died. I stopped smoking and never looked back.

Good luck!
