Actually, we have two Bichons. We got the puppy in my avatar about 6 weeks after losing our 8-year old female Bichon to hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. Our 10 year-old male, who has been surgically saved a few time himself, was in a complete funk, almost unresponsive after his companion died (way too young! Bichons typically live to 16+).
The day we brought Anna home, he perked up his ears for the first time in the weeks since our other dog passed, and he's been improving, ever since. Today, they spent half an hour chasing each other around the back yard, and for the first time, he was in the lead.
I hate dogs - they die. I love dogs, they give love unconditionally.

^ I noticed your badge had returned in the Photo thread. Glad you reconsidered. Vintage really is special.
Very cute dog...and a winner, too!
I had dogs for a long time, including two Weimaraners. Gorgeous, but neurotic.
Keep thinking about another one, but in the condo, it's difficult. Maybe when I finally retire and head for NC.

For a while you had us all playing Hamlet!
Deb, the little guys are not that much trouble, even in the city. And they love to go anywhere you go in the S. We only had a cat for many years. But I am glad we decided to get Tara. Lota love!
