An increase in junk email
Of late, I've been getting more junk email.
I'm getting email offers for dental plans, medicare plans (ah not eligible yet), dating sites for the over 50 crowed, emails from EMC, and on and on.
I mark them as spam, and off they go in the junk pile, but yet I get more in a day or so.
I pretty much hang around on the same websites as before, so what's up with the junk email?

I access my email two ways. I use Thunderbird at home and it seems to work pretty well at tossing stuff into junk. I used my ISP provider at the office and that is where I see the junk. It doesn't seem to filter it out very well.
I have always gotten a ton of spam on my office computer, but we've been very careful not to let out home email address out to just anybody. It worked for several years, but in the last 4 months or so, we've been getting more and more spam at home. From Viagra to fake IRS notices about our electronic deposits failing. (do they think they are fooling anybody with that?) So yes, I've seen an increase.
In Canada some genius decided it would be ok to allow our cellular phone numbers to be given to companies and marketing firms to text spam their crap. Email, telemarketers, text spamming. No real point in having these options if others abuse it.

I've been fortunate, very seldom do I receive garbage. On another note, I do receive phone calls from banks, political associations, and others looking for donations. I have call forwarded them to the town tax collectors office. I figure since they collect my taxes, they can handle these nuisance calls.
