An increase in junk email

I've been fortunate, very seldom do I receive garbage. On another note, I do receive phone calls from banks, political associations, and others looking for donations. I have call forwarded them to the town tax collectors office. I figure since they collect my taxes, they can handle these nuisance calls.
I just let them transfer to my voice-mail, but for some reason, they never leave a message.
