I really am no fan of Indycar at circle tracks, other than Indy. Tonight's TX race was one I was glad that I recorded so I could fast forward through 85% of it. As they mentioned at the start of it, the last 50 laps are when the real racing begins and so it was.

IndyCar is up at Road America (RA) from 6/21 - 6/24. A friend, who will be returning from Le Mans, and I will be there. They are a lot of fun to watch at RA. They crest the hill going down to Turn 5 at 190+ and pull the car down to 60+ to make the turn in such a short distance that it's amazing to watch.

Boy I would have loved to have been at this weekend's race. As best I can recall this was our first trip there, at least in an MG, in 1990. It was so awesome to see Fangio.
I had to smile when they mentioned Siebkens bar on tv today, saying David Hobbs and Dario Franchitti would likely be there. Although I'd seen Hobbs race in Europe, Siebkens was were I actually got to meet him. Great bar.....

Prayers go out to Wickens! That was one helluva breath taking wreck in PA today.

After watching a crash like that it does make you wonder how they can back in the car.

Robert Wickens suffered broken legs, broken right arm, a spinal injury and a bruised lung in his shunt at Pocono Raceway on Sunday.

If he didn't have a HANS on, he would almost certainly be deceased.

Although his final resting place was essentially hidden from cameras by the inside wall I thought he was deceased due to what seemed like a lack of urgency around his car, which even Paul Tracey mentioned. He had quickly become one of my favorite drivers this season. It is a very cruel sport at times. Powers summed it up when he said he won't watch replay videos of wrecks.
