An international response to global warming
Recently there was an international meeting in Russia to discuss the effects of global warming. It seems the polar ice cap is shrinking more every year, and now certain areas either do not freeze, or stay open longer than ever before. The attendees all seemed to be in agreement about how to respond and began taking action. The action? Better promote the open water to encourage shipping through the Northwest Passage between europe and the far east. It is faster and shorter to use this route than to go through the Suez canal. As for addressing the causes of global warming... that didn't seem to be an issue. Said another way, the attendees seemed to be happy about the business opportunity. Oh well. Maybe the shorter trips will cut down on carbon emissions.
