I don't want to make a new thread and I searched already looking for something for my older alpine HU. Its a CDA 7987. Can someone help me. All the ones I've seen are for the stock radio or for everything else other then the alpine. Thanks.

Santa brought me one of the FM transmitter type. I'll check it out and report back on how it works.

That sounds good! You'll just have to find a good location. Sometimes, I would put it IPOD with FM transmitter attached in my shirt pocket and it worked fine. You might even put a velcro type and attach it some where in the car but you want to make sure the velcro sticky doesn't leave any permanent mark or residue on any surface in your car.

Living near Boston makes using the FM is practically useless. I get so much static when I try to get my Garmin to talk through the car's speakers it is useless. That is unless you like white noise all the time.
Way too many stations in large urban areas leaves no frequencies that are noise free. But when I get up into NH or VT or ME it works fine as there are fewer stations hogging the frequencies.

Watch the installation video on the web site. It explains it in detail and it looks simple. It plugs into the back of the OEM radio where the CD changer would plug in.

The video shows the install on an S without the famous radio "door". Has anyone found instructions of how to remove the door then get to the back of the radio?
Hmmmm, I will have to look around.
