I definately agree. I have had people ask me why I bought a car that I can't drive in the winter where I live and my reply to them has been if you have to ask you just don't understand.

People buy cars for lots of different reasons. ...

I think we are the luckiest car buyers of all. We own cars that are just for the fun of it. Do you agree?

Matt,
They don't hate us. It's just a Honda...

Well said Rob!
Congratulations on the Si . I have been looking at it for a daily driver also, maybe next year. Only problem is I need a utility vehicle so the Element is my second choice.

Thanks Sam. The Si is my everyday car but it really fits into the "just for the fun of it" category. I'm really enjoying it.

Matt,

I can think of so many bigger reasons that the rest of the world hates us. If owning the S has anything to do with it, its only the tip of the iceberg.

I meant this to be a fun thread, I don't want it to get political.

Rob, I think your sentiment is tilted in the right direction, but I'm not sure it nails it for me, mostly because I bought my S to be a daily driver.

Now, I wouldn't have done this if I had (for whatever reason) to limit myself to only one vehicle (our other car is a Forester, for practicality), so there is a frivolous "fun" component to the thing.

But, for my needs, I've found the S to be surprisingly practical as well as fun. I did quite a bit of research before trading my STi, and the S came out as the best choice considering value, features (including power and handling), probable reliability, and looks. So fun is embedded in there, but it's not the only thing. HPH

Having owned/ridden motorcycles virtually my entire life, I'm pretty well used to getting strange questions on "why do you own that", etc. We bought our S for the fun of it - but it is still a daily driver for us. This should be our last winter as by next year, I should be retired and the RidgeLine will take care of daily driving needs - at least on the snowy days.

I was also going to comment on our state of affluence (sorry, Lainey )....but will refrain from hijacking your thread, Rob
