Well, you are right...people need to be specific and think hard about exactly what they do want. But I think what most of us don't want is to be a burden to our loved ones. That would be my most important consideration. And I think I would be a burden in the scenario you just painted.

Well, I think "loved ones" have some responsibility too. My sister was closest geographically to my mom when she was in the nursing home and she visited her every day for 6 years. It was very hard but she did the right thing IMHO.
