Lavender Lipstick
We had this last time we were in Key West. We really like it. Thought I'd share.
We went for dessert at a place called Better than Sex.
This is probably the most romantic glass of sparkly you'll ever drink.
We finally got around to making it at home. It's finger licking good.
First you make this:
Lavender Honey Simple Syrup:
1 cup honey
1/2 cup sugar
1 cup water
3 Tbsp lavender flowers
Bring water and lavender to a boil in a saucepan.
Add sugar and honey and stir constantly until sugar is completely dissolved.
Reduce heat and simmer for about 5 minutes.
Remove from heat, allow to cool, strain and bottle. I put it back in the honey bear.
Refrigerate. It will keep for about 1 week.
When it cools, rim a flute glass with it, let it run down the sides a bit. Then pour in the Prosecco.
This is good stuff.

I have long been fascinated by the concoctions that people (especially bar tenders) come up with. The other day NPR featured this story about the "Beet Me in St. Louis" cocktail. I can't help but wonder what it taste like?
