Default Local service put a scratch in the plastic window.

Local service guys put a nice big scratch in the plastic rear window. They deny it but are willing to try and fix it. What that means, I don’t know. They also say that they need to wait for warmer weather. ???

I’ve had good outcomes with the Meguiars plastic polish but this is a nice sharp scratch not light hazy scratches. What is the best way to improve a deep scratch?

Ask them to replace the top.
Or,at least,the back window...

I agree that they won't be able to repair a deep scratch. ^These two products are the best I can recommend. I used them on my '01 Silverstone window. My '05 Suzuka has glass.

^Before on 2001 S2000.

^After.

Most scratches can be removed with wet sanding and machine polishing. Is the scratch on the outside or inside?

Novus and Plexus will probably fix it or come close.

Also Griots Garage offers cleaner and polish products that work quite well. Griots is now carried by Autogeek as well as Griots own site.

A very fine polishing compound might also work, followed by plastic polish and cleaner.

That's what I would try first.

I have the Meguiars plastic two step 17 & 10 or 19 & 13 or… stuff and it has worked really well for the light hazy scratches. I have Plexus (Novus any better?) also but that just seems to make it look clean not really doing much for the scratches. The scratch is on the outside. I’m just going to try the Meguiars and see what happens.
