Buy a 1957 Chevy.
If not the Chevy, buy a 1957 to 1959 Caddy.

I'm not sure a Caddy will fit in my garage - those are some big boats.

I'll bet their owners love seeing $4 gallon prices.
Love that first one. Perhaps the price of gas will free up some of these.

The engine lives up to its name - it is extremely powerful, and coupled with Hydra Matic transmission, silky smooth as well.

The 1959 Olds Ninety Eight tail light is one of my all-time favorites - it is completely different from all other '59 Olds series tail lights. The Ninety Eight lens dramatically curves inward and is decorated with a chrome treatment.

The gasoline filler is located under a chromed steel cover in the middle of the rear bumper.

The chrome lived everywhere!

The speedometer is a colored band that travels from left to right as speed increases. From 0-35mph, the color is green, then a change to orange at 35 mph, and finally to red at 65 mph.

Details everywhere. The emergency brake pedal has a handy warning lamp

The Wonderbar radio was optional on all GM cars for many years. Pressing the Wonderbar initiated a small electric motor which moved the tuner knob and pointer to the next AM signal detected by the Wonderbar circuit. Directly under the Wonderbar is a sensitivity slider.

1959 OLDS dashboard details. In this photo, you can see the electric windshield wiper and washer controls - 1959 was the first year for electric wipers (not using a vacuum motor).

An awesome ride!

Dave, you know you want it!

But if you already own a Caddy, why would you need one of these?

I love the adventure of driving old cars down the old back roads looking for old cool places to stop. I enjoy going to old car shows but I have no desire to enter my own; I prefer a good driver car over a show car. I love the variety of multi-mark meets of any kind, especially British because they had so many cottage industry cool cars but for what I
Here's an interesting site a fellow S2000 owner linked me to.

I thought this might be fun, although I don't care for wheels.

You drive up to the '60s car meet and the owners of lesser vehicles wonder if you really mean to stop at the event. Children point, mouths open. Women wonder how they ended up with the men they married and stare enviously at your wife. And yet you paid no more that the cost of a 64 GTO clone.
