March Madness
Anyone making any predictions? Personally, I never got into college basketball. I almost resent that it consumes any and all sports programming for weeks. Any fans out there?

I don't follow basketball. I find it boring. But the Univ of Md has sparked my interest, so I might watch them to see how they do.

Did the lawsuit between the NCAA and the Illinois High School Association ever get settled? IHSA contended they were the originators of the phrase "March Madness" and it wound up in court, but I never heard of any resolution. This year IHSA is using the phrase "The ORIGINAL March Madness".
That said, I only casually follow college basketball; I don't have enough interest in it nor do I know enough about it to try picking a team.

You don't grow up in North Carolina, or go to a school that's in the ACC, without being totally consumed by College Basketball!
Just like college football is a religion in Texas and Oklahoma and Ohio (among others), hoops rule in the ACC. In fact, I run the NCAA Pool here at work, as I have for years. (Anyone interested?...it's web-based)
It's the best part of the college sports season for me!
GO WOLFPACK!!!!!
So, there, Carmen!

You are right, Gene - I went to UNC and was surrounded by big basketball schools - Wake Forest, NC State, Duke, etc. I used to like going to the games in person. Lots of fun. But I don't enjoy watching on TV.

It's all just filler until baseball starts. MLB opening day is April 5 this year. I have tickets to see the Cubs in Atlanta on April 10th. Go Cubs!
Back to March Madness....South Carolina managed to make it to the dance this year. We play Memphis in the first round. I'll be happy if we can just make it past the first round. Go Cocks!
On a side note, I enjoy college basketball but can't stand the NBA. It seems the NBA season lasts about 13 months--which is just slightly longer than the NFL season.
