Market Watch 2015
Well, we are off to a bad start this year with a big down day yesterday. Things are down today as well. Some say, "no sweat, we were due for a correction." Some say cheap oil will hurt. Some say cheap oil is great. Some say both. What say you?
I'm expecting another "up" year in 2015.

Cheap oil is the best thing that could happen to boost the economy, no matter what it does to Wall Street in the short term.

Cheap oil is great. It definitely saves at the gas pumps and with heating oil expenses. On the negative, if you have individual investments in energy or index/fund investments loaded with the same you’re gonna’ lose until the crude prices stabilize.
In Colorado, a state that has always been tied to the boom and bust of energy, it’s a down factor. Unemployment is expected to rise here due to reduced incentive in the energy sector. In Colorado and other western states it may be a long term recovery.
The lower values on energy are able to pull the markets down across the board. The markets should rebound and grow in 2015 once oil capitulates and then appreciates.
That's my guess.

I'm a fan of the cheap oil. I see more money in the pockets of folks who will be happy to spend it on something other than gas/home heating oil.
I'm aware this will hurt some sectors of the economy/business, but I think it's all part of a cycle, and change that happens all the time.
