Looks like landfall as a Cat 2 in SC about noon today - north of Hilton Head.

I saw I-95 in southern SC is closed in both directions. Not sure how long my sis is prepared to go without power. They lost it night before last. Might be very difficult at this point to go anywhere.

Heard from Val at 6 AM. Storm is there right now. Power will probably go out. Hoping the trees stay up. She says her neighbors are around so I guess they can help each other. Being on the marsh is not a good thing, but maybe there won't be bad flooding at her location.

I'm just about 15miles or so NE of Orlando. Lost 1 8" branch on a tree, never lost power. Lots of rain and wind but no real damage.

Rain and moderate winds predicted here. We are fortunate.

Val still had power awhile ago, but there is time this afternoon to lose it. She does seem to be in a somewhat protected area from hurricanes, so maybe they will luck out this time. I saw that Florida Power is hoping to have most power restored by Sun evening, with some exceptions. Maybe sis will get also luck out and only have three days without. Considering the numbers, that could be optimistic.

Saw a video taken by Val's next door neighbor on the marsh. Shows quite a lot of water washing under their house, which is raised, as are all the houses on the water. Seems to have saved them. She said the water came 25' from her yard. So dodged the bullet, apparently. No word from my sis - I assume they are still in the dark.
