Well Rob, when are we going to get an update - - did you buy it?

If so, here's a NJ contact for you with the MG Car Club Central Jersey Centre. They meet at the VFW in Mount Morris and currently have 140 members representing 210 British cars, mostly MGs. The contact is Eliot Ganek from South Orange. Phone # 973-762-8116.

Dave,

Most likely I'm going to get it. The problem is I haven't seen it yet. The car was bought by the owner in 1954 and owned by him until he died about 2 years ago. Supposedly it was treated with much love and garaged all these years. Now that he's dead his son (the executor of the estate) wants to sell it. I have to wait for the son to go to the house so that I can arrange to see it. One of my colleagues who knew the owner and knew the car has told me it's in very good condition and based upon what the son has told him the price is right. My colleague is going to contact the son this weekend and perhaps take pictures of the car. I will probably see it during the week. If it's what he says, and if the price is within range of what he says, the car is mine. Ironically, the car is right hand drive, just like my first TD. I was hoping to get another right hand drive someday. I wish it was BRG but I'll settle for red.

I do know of the Central NJ MG Club. They put on something called "Britfest" every year in a park about 3 miles from here. I try to attend every year. It's a great gathering of a lot of British cars. I love going. If I get the MG I'll participate next year. I have met one of the officers of the club a number of years ago. I've already downloaded the membership form and am ready to join as soon as I get the TD. They meet about 5 miles from here.

It'll be like a dream come true. Owning an S2000 and an MG-TD.
