Living in the boonies, we have lots of mice. I have D-Con, but I use it as bait in one of those plastic traps that trap them live. They go inside an opening, either side, and their weight flips them into the trap, just a plastic box. They either die in the box from the D-Con or later after I release them. The trap works great. It's called TomCat multiple Mouse trap.

Traps still clear as of this morning. One more day and I think I'll feel ok that the car is clean.

Jim, go the poison route. Some of those make the critter leave the area and look for water. I like the idea of poison inside a trap. Kill them and hold them for disposal.

You might also try putting a trap outside near the rear wheels since he was gaining access near there to the rear seats.

Thanks Bill and Dave,

I didn't want to use poison since I don't want it to die in the car. I have Peanut butter in the sticky traps to lure it.

I do put snap traps around the S when I store it in the garage for the winter, but since this car is outside and I have a dog, I didn't want to put traps outside the car since I was afraid my dog, a bird or a cat might get in the traps if I move the car and forget it, but might try it for a night or 2.

I have to say, this thread is making me think I have to look closely at the S. I just took it out of storage and it had a musty smell to it. I thought it might be a bit of mold from just sitting closed up all winter. Now I'm wondering if have a mouse too.

Thank you for being so thoughtful about the plight of innocent outside animals!

A couple of years ago, I had my fuel filler neck in the S replaced. The tech told me that he found a mose nest up there - lots of mouse poop to clean out. Yuck.

Years ago when I had a Prelude which I kept outside I was not getting any heat. When they opened the heater they found a mouse nest inside. The service guy told me to always keep the heater/freshair vent closded when the car is parked.
