Default A milestone 8 years in the making

I finally turned 50K on the odometer on the way to work this morning. The car is still running great and is a joy to drive every time I get behind the wheel - except for that time I got caught out in the rain on I-75 back in '03 when the original rear S-02s were bald. What a noob!

The best part is a significant number of those miles were spent driving to/during/from get togethers with folks on this forum.

I guess I'm fortunate that my commute is only 9 miles one way and it's only 3 miles or so to get to great mountain twisties.

Not that there are any in north Georgia.

8 years and only 50K? Impressive. I just hit 9k since I bought my S2K second hand 14 months ago. (18k to 27k).

I don't have a commute so ALL of those miles are to and from running errands, visiting family or friends, trips, or meets.

I love the S and I love driving it every chance I get. Makes me sad to think that they stopped making it and there is no replacement. I want to drive the pants off of this one and then buy a new one.

Raymo. you need to get out more. We have 52K on our 2004, many of those miles were put on driving to meets. Not so many of late, though......

My '05 just hit 90,000 miles on my trip to Pittsburgh, PA for Spring Fling 2010, and we've never met in person. You going to Asheville, in a year?

I expect to turn 40K in the next week or so on my '02.
of course Raymo has 4-5 months a year he can enjoy his when our climatic conditions are not ideal for top down cruising.

Whew! I can't read too good anymore and thought YOU were turning 50 and that I was really getting old. And if you come back with a "you ARE really getting old, granny", you're dead meat you lil'' whippersnapper.

Yeah, I've become quite the homebody over the last several years. We've found that for anything more than a long weekend the S is just not practical for trips - unless you buy stuff when you get there then abandon it.
