Oh, the wild and crazy things we do while under the influence of cookies. I'd get the LSD. You can upgrade the audio for much less at a good shop...and in the end you will have a car that gets out of the corners better, is less likely to get stuck, and will probably sound better than the one with the good factory ice.

This is the way I'll most likely go - unless another dealer gives me the same discount for building one from scratch...then I'd let go of the LSD and get everything on my 'wish list'.

By LSD, do you mean Limited Slip Differential? If so, what does this feature do?

When you corner hard, the inside wheel has a smaller radius of travel than the outside wheel. The LSD compensates for this and allows you to get the maximum grip when one wheel has less traction than the other. Powering out of turns and off the line launches are best w/ LSD.
The S2K has it standard.

Well, it's done.
I just ordered the Mini, it'll arrive in late May. I decided that since the Mini will never be a S performance replacement, I should enjoy it for what it is, and mellow a bit in my middle age. No need to be charging through apexes and passing Buicks in the left lane. I picked the interior trim and the wife wanted stripes, so it's basically my wish list w/o LSD.
I have a couple of months to say good-bye the the S. Spring is my favorite roadster season, especially coming out of this winter. 65 forecasted, I'm going to savor every mile.
