Default Mini Rocketman

I know it sounds like an action figure that my grandkids would want but actually it's a car that grandpa wants. It is shown about two minutes into this clip.

Looks like Buzz Lightyear from the Toy Story movies to me. Will they ever have a JustDriveMan?

You're too young (I suspect) to remember when the real Mini's kicked Vette's butts at the track. It was something special..... and I owned a '63 Vette. This car is spec'd to be the size of the real deal or close to it, not like the car they call the Mini now.

I am too young to remember that, but I respect Mini's past achievements. I never meant to come across as anything else. Just seeing the Rocketman reminded me of Buzz Lightyear.

That said I have not been too happy with the direction BMW has taken with the brand. Granted the cars are light-weight by current standards (as they should be), but cost and products like the Countryman & Clubman just plain turn me off. And everything is an option, even an LSD.

Had I come of age in the 60's, the MINI would definitely have been my car of choice. When I was shopping, the MINI spec'd out the way I wanted was too expensive. I went for the Civic Si at the time (just above $20K). That said I learned how to drive on old cars (no power steering and column mounted shifters). The modern cars are a breeze to drive in comparison. Therefore when I read some of your posts, I can identify with them.
