Plus, I love the song, ' Moon River"!
That's a beautiful area. When I was a kid, we did several car-camping vacations in Algonquin Park just east of there (at Lake Opeongo -- I just love saying that) with a canoe. But the river looks even better.

And Jonas, are you sporting a mustache or am I having a senior moment?
Virginija and Anika both suggested I keep it for a while, just for a change of pace.

Great pictures and captions.
Did you ever tip the canoe? Clearly you had a nice camera along; how did you protect it from the elements - like tipping over?
Like you, we use to camp and canoe - although with a gang of folks - annually. But, those days are over for us. Great reminder of what the good times were like. I didn't see any pictures of rain, mud, soaked clothing, sand, etc.
Having caught and tasted all the fish mentioned, I can appreciate how sweet they are fresh out of the water.
As the others mentioned, thanks for a great post.

Many years ago I took a fishing trip to Burntwood Lake in northern Manitoba. I caught both pike and walleye -- one of them would cover itself with slime when you took it out of the water, but I can't remember which? Just idle curiosity if anyone knows. I can't remember if we cooked both, but whatever it was delicious!
Your pictures are beautiful. I'm not much into the idea of camping any more -- too accustomed to creature comforts like real beds -- but would love to see that scenery!

Thanks for the mental jog. thankfully the folks that ran the lodge where I stayed did the cleaning and cooking of the catch(es). it was hard enough for me to touch those slimy things to get them off my line!
