I caught both pike and walleye -- one of them would cover itself with slime when you took it out of the water, but I can't remember which? Just idle curiosity if anyone knows.
Ahem, I'm sitting in the next room and I do know a thing or two about ichthyology.

It's wonderful that you camp with Anika. I did that kind of stuff as a child. We camped all over Europe one summer. And I spent a lot of time down in NC fishing, too. I may be wrong, but I don't think kids do much of that these days. Mainly because their parents don't take them? What do y'all think? I noticed when I was last down at the fishing and hunting camp my uncle founded that the kids were mostly riding around on their four wheelers, not out on the lake or anything. What a disappointment.

Martha probably didn't want to disturb you. She probably thought you were napping/resting up for the next phase of "fireplace removal."

I think kids are more into organized activities, and many can't entertain themselves by playing outside.

Our family never camped. Never had time. (THANK GOD ) Dad only got one week's vacation for many years.

My one experience with camping as a Girl Scout was enough to make me see the , but Anika sure looks like she's having fun.

Now why didn't I think of that! Besides, you'd have probably just told me that since they weren't salt water fish you didn't care about them. And Lainey is right -- I knew you were busy with much more important things than answering my fish questions..

Great trip by the looks of it. Camping is a lot of work but it can be so much fun. We went every year while Ray was growing up and also before he was born. A good 20 years of going on vacation in the wilds, there is nothing like it.
Glad you had fun.

What are you doing sitting? You're supposed to be working on finishing up that room.

Virginija and Anika both suggested I keep it for a while, just for a change of face.
Ah ha. A little spice for the night?
