LOL on that video.

Whatever it is, under the deck. It did like peanut butter. I know my "hunter" at work uses peanut butter in the traps.

Rick will reset the trap again this weekend.

Let's hope they are not Voles. I've been dealing with Voles for close to 10 years and have tried everything to get rid of them to no avail. After the snow melt we find the damage every year. The eat the bark off any low evergreen type bushes. It takes the bushes all summer to recover, and then the cycle repeats.

So what happened? Did it eat the peanut butter and set off the trap but not get caught?

Kinda gives new meaning to the old phrase " when you say we, have you got a mouse in your pocket?"

Yes, but it's too dark to deal with after work. As long as this critter doesn't make it's way into my house, it's all good.

Looks like a mole to me. It went for the peanut butter.

We've seen these guys, or dead ones in the yard before. Have never notice any yard/garden issue due to them, and according to my quick research, they can be beneficial.

Rick re-set the trap, but the question is do we want to get rid of these little creatures, or leave them be?

I read Wikipedia and it said, "A mole's diet primarily consists of earthworms and other small invertebrates found in the soil, and a variety of nuts." I guess that means it won't hurt your plants but it will make tunnels. I wouldn't want the tunnels in my yard.

Didn't take a pic, but today's "catch of the day" was a mouse. Cute little thing, but it appears to be a disease carrying deer mouse.

I felt a little bad about his demise until I read the nasty germs these things can carry.
