Murder Town
I live in Delaware and our largest city, Wilmington, was given the distinctive honor of "Murder Town" by Newsweek last December. Since then there have been 115 more shootings and 25 murders. So, ABC has ordered a pilot for the legal drama, which will be set in Wilmington and be called "Murder Town". No time table for the shows possible debut has been announced. Barry Schindel, Intelligence, Numb3rs, Castle wrote the pilot. Jada Pinkett Smith (Will Smith's wife) will play Delaware's first African- American district attorney. This "good news" sent shock waves to the incompetent do nothings running Murder Town who have done little to control this out of control epidemic. Drugs and thugs have destroyed a once prominent small city where the arts, dining, community events, etc made it a great place to visit. See any similarities here, I do. The same type of deterioration is happening in lots of cities large and small across the country. A certain "element" is destroying our cities and it doesn't stop there. It has spread to many other cities and suburbs in Delaware. Many reasons why which I won't elaborate on but most people "get it". Enough is enough, time to make some changes. So, stay tuned and you can see what life is like in "Murder Town".
There is not a day without shootings, knifings and other crime in our area. Almost everyone has home security devices so that we don't get robbed and home invasions are quite the norm anymore. It is sad.

I grew up in Baltimore city and we never had these issues. We got along with others, played baseball, football , basketball and other sports with them. Of course back then there were strong family values in place as opposed to now. The kids growing up now in these high crime areas have no role models, family or religious values and most of the time no father figure. They get mixed up in drugs and violence at an early age as that is the only life they know outside of the home. Very sad, but it is what it is. It's a social issue and hiring a lot of cops to control the violence is not the answer.
