Same here in Louisville. I never go into the city, except to renew my conceal carry license. The sad part is that they are spending tens of millions of dollars to revitalize downtown, but IMO, it's too dangerous.

Sadly, so to the Cleveland police. (That was bad but true --- right?)

Doing the same thing in Wilmington. Who is going to come downtown under the present circumstances. Bulding condos on the waterfront, great if you stay inside even during the day with bars on your windows and doors.

I was talking to my hairdresser (he's Lebanese and Beirut has had its share of problems) about traveling and my reluctance now to go to certain places due to unrest/drug wars/etc. The +1 and I had discussed Paris next year, but decided to go to Canada on the train trip instead. Now that I see another serious set of attacks is taking place as I write (apparently four different locations with multiple deaths and injuries), that city may be added to the no-go list. Sad...

It is very sad, MsP. I seldom watch the local news on TV but subscribe to two local newspapers. After reading them I'm surprised at the number of tourists who come to Myrtle Beach. The crime rate seems ridiculously out of control! We go to Myrtle Beach about once every month or two to shop, but I'm always wary due to the extreme numbers of people who are robbed in various shopping destinations. Unreal.

There is a murder(s) every few days within the Denver Metro areas. The downtown area of Denver is a place to avoid in the late evening or early morning hours unless you want to get mugged. The Denver Police posts discombobulated facts and figures that makes everything look like it’s under control, but Denverites know better.

The Denver Metro Area is better known for its mass murder history (i.e. the Aurora Theater Massacre, Columbine High School and the ChuckEcheese murders)
