I have visitors from Germany here in Durango this week. Yesterday we did the jeep trail from Silverton to Ouray. There was evidence of extreme washout all along the route, and in places is was almost impassable. The visitors couldn’t have imagined that a vehicle could actually advance along that trail. Lots of adrenaline, and a fun day. We ended up spending time in the hot water pool in Ouray for coming down and relaxing. Coop knows that traill very well...

The girlfriend will be in Washington around the middle of OCT for EXIT realty national convention and I will driving up in the SLK to join her for the last night formal gala. After that we plan to spend 3-4 days in the New England area, maybe Boston or someplace, maybe a nice B&B.
what can you recommend and where would you go and visit during those few days, please also think about travel time? I want this to be relaxing and enjoyable for her, maybe something around a nice harbor town for one night,

You and I really need to get together when I'm up there. I am there for about 3+ weeks each year. I go up in April for 2+ weeks to make sure that my mom's property is ready for the summer and to meet with her care giver to discuss her services. In August, I'm there for a week + for her birthday and to ensure that the contracts for leaf collection and gutter cleaning are all in working order. We had her 100th birthday two weeks ago. It was cool. Her congressman sent a certificate of recognition, the mayor of Lynn, MA send a certificate of recognition and we had 50 friends, family and neighbors to an 8-course buffet party (that dented my checking account).

So day one ended up with us around Philly for a 80th Birthday party, Tuesday night we hope to meet up Carol & Roy, so in between is still open, but thinking the Connecticut Wine tour or just a nice coastal town or two
