As Yogi Berra (and others) so eloquently put it, “Nostalgia ain’t what it used to be.”

Denver, Boulder and Golden are virtually one single city with only signs for marking boundaries. In college I commuted from Denver for the first two years before moving to Boulder. When driving now from Denver to Boulder I remember a completely different landscape and traffic pattern. Ich verstehe die Welt nicht mehr!! LOL
We used to go camping in Colorado almost every summer when I was a kid, I remembered the stretch between Colorado Springs and Denver being wide open and I always kept my eye out for the Air Force Academy chapel spires off in the distance. First time going back in 2012 I couldn't recognize any of it, and the chapel spires are now hardly visible.

Progress I suppose, but still sad. At least Estes Park is somewhat similar to what I remember it being just a bit smaller.
