Original Thoughts
It occurred to me when typing a response in the "three words" thread that the people of early history that are still known by one name where perhaps "original thinkers" and that explains their place in history.
It has been proposed that perhaps no human being since Einstein has had a "truly original thought" that is not based on knowledge that was not learned or gained from or by someone elses knowledge or work.
Do you think that you have ever had a truly original thought?
Answer the poll question and then let us know what you think if may have been and why?

Depending on how harshly you "grade" Matt, giving an answer using English (or any standard language) may be grounds for disqualification.

I don't think that I am qualified to judge!
But, let us assume that one can use any of the known languages used on earth to describe or explain one's original thought, concept or idea.
What is original Matt? Is it original if you thought about it without hearing about it first? I have had a number of "original" ideas that others who I never met also had and then developed into something. That taught me the truth behind the saying "success is 10% inspiration, 90% perspiration."
One example. When I ws in college, I had the idea for a nice beer hall that served all different kinds of hot dogs. There would be whole menu with all different sorts of dog prepared all different sorts of ways. Two years later the bar "Frank an' Steins" opened in Boston. It was a huge success. I have a bunch of examples like that, and a few I won't give away yet.

With ideas like that you're going to need a good CPA and a good lawyer. I know the CPA, now I've got to find you the lawyer.
I think we've all had original thoughts, they just haven't been unique to us. That said, I think all ideas are built on the ideas and knowledge that came before.

Bill, Sorry, you did not invent beer nor did you invent hot dogs.
On the ones that you did not devulge, building a better mouse trap does not qualify as it is only improving on some one else's design.
If one really gives my premise some thought, it is humbling.
But, the human spirit goes on and someone will come up with the next great "Original Thought" that will change the world again.
