We did that dozens of times in our lives always down the eastern coast of USA to Florida. Those were the best trips we ever made.

Since I was an only child in those years my family never needed a wagon. But years later when the roads were not as smooth and there was lots more traffic I bought a wagon for my three kids.

When we moved to France many years ago, the huge Pontiac Bonneville went with us. It took us camping and on other trips around Europe for the three years we lived there and came back to VA with us, too.

Dave, that was very fun to watch!
I was one of 5 girls, and my parents bought a new 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air Station Wagon. It was the first brand new car that we ever had.
(My father had a friend who sold used cars, so prior to that, his friend always gave him good deals on used cars.)
