Didn't F1 McLaren just get fined 15M and loss of their probable constructor's championship for stealing/cheating Ferrari info? Their drivers are #1 and 2 in the standings. Sounds like they meant business.

Are we talking "M" as in million? Now $100 million would definitely get someone's attention!

Give me a break, please.

The violation of the rules in each case is not at all similar. In the F1 instance the total act was a violation of the rules. In the NFL instance it was the method employed.
Videotaping the other coaches signals is also a "total violation of the rules". The videotaping is the only question. THAT is the rule. Therefore doing it is a total violation of the rule. It's really not so complicated.

Everyone knows that all teams employ some method to try to spy on each other. But that doesn't give one team the freedom to violate the rules.

Where do you get that pixie dust? It sounds interesting.

Football coaches sinking to the level of politicians ....... now we're surely doomed.....!!!
Coupled with the "Junk Bond King" Michael Milken (who got to keep much of his $500 million after doing jail time) and the "infamous" Greed is Good speech as portrayed in by Michael Douglas in the movie "Wall Street". IMHO that was the beginning of the end of ethics when a survey of MBA graduates revealed that they would risk going to jail "for that kind of money".

Milken got five years in jail and after his fine still walked away with $536 million dollars (if I remember correctly). Not a bad pay off, if one has no conscience (IMHO).

Bottom line is that we live in a society where integrity doesn't mean much anymore. Out of respect for yourself, I would think that people in that kind of position would disavow any and all activities that would detract from their profession. How can a coach who does this face his own players and inspire them to play their best. I guess they graduated from the sandlot box a long time ago, unfortunately innocence lost forever.

The big question is: Does anyone in power know the meaning of the word: Ethics?
