I dunno Val. I keep reading about what a wonderful close-knit group this is, yet every time I get on this site I run into another pissing contest over the most insane things. Perhaps there should be a "Barbs and Insults" subforum to Vintage where mudslinging can take place without the rest of us getting caught in the crossfire. Personally this reminds me of a couple years ago when I resigned as the community Organizer of the Ohio Forum. It just got to the point where the nonsense just wasn't worth my time and effort anymore. I wonder if Vintage is getting to that same place for me? (speaking only for myself). I actually thought Jerry's post was one of the more interesting ones lately. It got me thinking about a few things:

1) It would be nice to be a part of a mens group that meets weekly
2) What am I doing this year to help others?
3) What would I do with the $50?

Meals on Wheels

I suggest Meals on Wheels as featured on USA Today as one option.

i prefer to buy stuff and give it in stead of money....food banks, new toys, new clothes to sally ann or goodwill.

the cash thing gets eaten up by adminsitration and bureacracy.

we just had a front page article in our local paper on saturday.....81% of MADD dollars goes to administration.

i mean like EIGHTY-ONE-FVCKING-PERCENT?!?!?!?!?!

here's the link:

at least when you give a case of soup or unwrapped toys, they can't squander those on admin costs.

our favourite is purchasing new baby stuff for under-privileged babies.

nothing wrong with giving to charitable causes, but i'll de damned if they take advantage of my kindness.

I hate to agree with certain Canadian bastards but these are all very good points.
