Well, I guess it has been a while. $2.99 for a, as in one, single candy. not a box of candy bars. 1 candy bar.
I remember going to the drugstore and picking up candy bars for a nickel. 5 for quarter
Whiskey Tango Foxtrot.
That's expensive I agree. I hate those stores that put food and drink near the cash registers to tempt you, and the costs are almost always inflated. When I am at Lowes I always want a small bottle of coke but they want like $2.99 for a tiny bottle. I used to find 2 litre bottles for $2.00 but they want me to pay $2.99 for a small bottle.

Hell, the last time I checked, even 1% of $1B is $10M. I suspect I could safely lock in at least a little bit more than that!

This post just tells us how old you are.
I to unfortunately remember those nickel candy bars. Those days are long gone and I have to settle to just walk past the candy aisle.

But you will only get about 50%, at best, of that $1.0B after taxes. You will have to learn to live with less Mark!!

Don’t recall the nickel candy bar, but I remember the nickel ice cream cone at Thrifty Drug Store!

When I walked home from grammar school, Friday was candy day. My mom gave me 10 cents. That was good for one chocolate bar, like a Three Musketeers or an UNO, or two non-chocolate candies, like Abba Zabba and Red Hots.

I was in a King Soopers grocery store yesterday, looking for my passenger to drive her home. I noticed the people in line buying Powerball but had no idea why. Leave it to Vintage to keep my informed.

well this drawing of Powerball has not changed my life in any way except I'm down $2.

of course they haven't said if there is a winner. maybe my anarchist wish came true and there won't be a winner.

I contributed $20 to the State of Delaware with the same result as you.

Well Jerry the lottery spending is a real conundrum at times. They say lotteries are a tax on the stupid, and I qualify for that myself having played lotteries in our region. But you can't win if you don't play either. It only takes one winning ticket to cash out, so playing one ticket ain't so bad. I always get a laugh when more people play as the value of the jackpot goes up, as if the base amount isn't enough for them.

I sometimes grab a couple of tickets. I mean, I spend $4 every now and then with the fun thought that maybe I will win, then I laugh at the outcome usually being not one single matched number . There are those that go on big rants about "yeah but all those little $4 in life you waste ..." . I mean sure, it is true, all the little amounts of money you spend on frivolous stuff your whole life could really add up. But that goes with a lot of what people spend money on. I have no delusions that I should buy a pile of tickets every week hoping to win one day, but itis also just fun sometimes to do it. And me buying them is never tied to the jackpot being huge. The smallest jackpot they have is enough for me!
