By his own admission, Chavez reached too far in one big chunk. Now, he'll take it in smaller bites and suck in the guillibles via patronage. He's got 5 years and that is plenty of time to reach out to the perceived disinfranchised. That country is in deep political trouble, and short of assassination I think he'll pull it off.

While I tend to agree with you, you have to admit that the opposition found a voice this time. It just might be that he won't be able to pull it off.
