Default privileged

HERE is the definition.

All of this led me to thinking a lot about the topic. The 5th example of the use of "privileged" relates to membership in a "club" and the Vintage Forum is one Thinking about our group and a lot of the discussions over the years (home improvements, vacation trips, where we live, dream cars, etc.) leads one to think that a LOT of us do fall into this class....whether we like it or not. We have mostly even transcended the question of race b/c members here are not only white, but also black, latino, asian and whatever.

Another reason that this interests me is that our "grown up" kids have been interested in this topic...esp after we had a "what to do when we die" discussion last year. They were surprised to learn some of our financial details....enough said on that topic.

I thought that a POLL might lead you to THINK about this question. I am aware that this might easily evolve into a political discussion, but I hope it can be kept out of that quicksand. OTOH, maybe this is not of interest to anyone else...

Mod edit.

Just a normal guy here!

That being said...... people who don't have a lot.... might consider a lot of us as privileged!

Privilege like wealth is relative. No, I don't consider myself privileged by any means, but to one who has little or nothing I guess I would be.

Privileged? We're all privileged! We're privileged to live in a country that allows people to be successful. We're privileged to be protected by a Constitution that allows us to pursue happiness.

We're all privileged to have the same opportunity to succeed.

I'm definitely privileged and appreciate it, as Grant said.

Not privileged... just lucky to have been born in the USA!

And to have had parents that steered me in the right direction (thanks mom & dad!)!

And to have worked my butt off so I can afford to have toys!

I voted no, not privileged
In many ways I see my self as fortunate, but there are some fundamental differences between privileged and fortunate that make a big difference between the two
